Does Bee make Dems nervous?

The attacks that the Arizona Democratic Party have waged against Senate President Tim Bee are beginning to take national notice. In a recent article published in Roll Call, the AZ-D’s have said they are having their attorney look into the matter of whether or not Bee’s exploratory committee is legal - which it is.

Another article from The Politco puts some light on the matter that Democrats should be more concerned with:

One Arizona Democratic operative said the strategy to attack Bee before he officially enters the race could backfire.

“Why do Democrats keep giving free stories to Tim Bee, raising his profile and making people think they’re scared of him?” the operative said. “Why not encourage him to stay in his very busy role as state Senate president?”

The truth of what is going on is that the Democrats are afraid of Senator Bee. They know that the potential candidacy of Bee is threatening because he is known as a consensus-builder, and has high favorability among Republicans, Independents, and even Democrats. The fact that Giffords has gone to Washington with a disregard for her campaign promise of bi-partisan partnership is not going to be quickly forgotten by voters. Instead they’ll turn to Senator Bee who has proven he can reach across the aisle to his Democratic colleagues and form common-sense policy.

Something interesting as well, is that Tedski over at RRR has accused Bee for his exploratory site www.timbee.com being currently blank. While we would all like to see Bee’s site complete, isn’t a bit hypocritical for Tedski, a Democratic Party activist to lash out at the Senator when his state party has been accusing Tim of doing too much in the exploratory phase?

But by that same notion, shouldn’t Tedski and the AZ-D’s be going after Governor Janet Napolitano for forming a Federal PAC that has thus far raised over $41,000? No one is going to form a federal political action committee without the intention of using it to advance yourself into a federal office. So why should Janet be allowed to raise money for what many expect to be her run for the U.S. Senate in 2010, while still being Governor of Arizona? According to the justification that the Dems are using to attack Bee, she shouldn’t be able too.

Boy, if the Dems are going nuts over Bee’s blank exploratory committee website, then Gabby is going to be sweating bullets once it is completed and Tim has declared his candidacy.

Ever watchful, ever mindful.
